Offline mode and child profiles

Before changing devices or removing the app, reconnect and let new creations finish sending. Until then, that new work is kept only on this device.

Choose what to download

On an iPhone, iPad, or Android device, open Family, then Set up offline mode while connected. Choose None to create without downloading old creations, Newest and enter any whole number, or All. Downloads include the originals, previews, and voice notes. Available device space still limits what fits. Cancel stops preparation and keeps the previous prepared gallery.

Hand over the device

Choose Prepare without downloads or Download, then Start offline mode. Set up a grown-up PIN first if asked, then choose Start offline mode again. Enter the grown-up PIN before selecting a child. Keep Grown-up PIN or supported Device unlock enabled in Settings so you can leave offline mode. Account password alone cannot unlock offline. None prepares child profiles without downloading media. New creations and voice recordings stay on this device until a grown-up ends offline mode and a connection is available.

Switch profiles or finish child time

Choose Switch profile to pick another child, or Grown-up exit to finish child time. Complete one of the unlock methods enabled in Settings on this device. The app PIN and supported device unlock work offline; Account password needs a connection and is unavailable during offline mode. Cancel keeps the current profile. Switching keeps child mode and offline mode on. To replace a forgotten app PIN later, use Change or recover the PIN in Settings while connected.

Child mode while connected

Open Family and choose Start child mode. Set a grown-up PIN if asked, then choose Start child mode again. Enter the grown-up PIN, then pick a child. Each new handoff asks for the PIN, even when one is already saved. Children can browse the family gallery and create under their selected profile. Switching profiles or changing creators during capture requires an enabled grown-up unlock method. Settings and family administration require leaving child mode with an enabled method. Profiles are part of the family account, not separate child accounts or private galleries. The optional older child PIN identifies a child on one device; it does not protect grown-up controls and has no setup control in the current app.

What the lock covers

The unlock methods enabled in Little Binder Settings control profile switching and grown-up access inside the app. Device unlock includes the phone PIN and biometrics, so disable it if a child knows that PIN. Guided Access and app pinning keep the device in one app and use separate device credentials. Offline mode pauses Little Binder requests; it does not turn off Wi-Fi or cellular service.

Little Binder: your chosen unlock methods

Switch profiles or open grown-up controls

In Settings, open Unlock methods on this device, choose Change unlock methods, complete the current check, choose your methods, and Save. Keep at least one available method. The choices apply to this account on this device. Device unlock includes face, fingerprint, or the phone PIN; turn it off if your child knows the phone PIN. Grown-up PIN and supported Device unlock work offline. Account password needs a connection. Changing these choices leaves your PIN and password unchanged.

iPhone / iPad: Guided Access

Keep the device in Little Binder

In device Settings, open Accessibility, then Guided Access, and set its passcode. Open Little Binder and triple-click the side, top, or Home button to start. To finish, use the shortcut, authenticate with the Guided Access passcode or enabled biometrics, then choose End. Older iOS versions use a different exit shortcut; see Apple’s guide.

Android: App pinning

Keep the device in Little Binder

In device Settings, search for App pinning and enable it with device unlock required. Open Little Binder, open Overview, tap the app icon, then Pin. To leave, use your device’s unpin gesture and screen-lock PIN, pattern, or password. Names and gestures vary by device.

Creations kept on this device

Offline preparation stores child-profile details and, if chosen, creation originals, previews, voice notes, and family presentation media on the device. Choosing None replaces the prepared gallery with an empty one and downloads no media. Existing ordinary cache may remain. Cancelling keeps the previous prepared gallery. New unsent creations are stored separately and are not removed when prepared downloads are replaced or cleared. They are not backed up to the family server until they finish sending. Losing the device, deleting app data, or uninstalling the app before then can lose that work.

Keep your phone locked in this app only

In the iPhone, iPad or Android app, open “Keep your phone locked in this app only” above Grown-up exit when choosing a child. It shows the steps for your device. By default, from the fifth app launch, the same help also appears at the top of Home, Gallery and Create. “Don’t show again” hides it everywhere for your account after syncing.
