Make your own frame
Make a reusable frame for your family’s creations. Give it a transparent middle, then arrange the creation and frame together in the preview.
Find the frame editor
In grown-up mode, open a creation in Gallery. Tap the three dots beside Share, choose Add a frame or Change the frame, then Make your own frame inside the frame editor. The editor opens separately from the creation details. Complete the grown-up check.
Choose, preview, and save
Drag the transparent opening to move it. Drag a corner to resize it. Your frame will have a transparent middle. Choose Save frame when it looks right.
Frame your creation
Choose an image, name your frame, and place its transparent opening. Choose Save frame. In step 2, use Move creation or Move frame, then drag or resize the selected layer. Crop trims the displayed creation. Fit selection shows the whole layer. In front and Behind set the frame layer. Canvas shape is optional. Back to frames keeps adjustments. Hide frame and Show frame affect this preview. Remove frame keeps the display crop and your family frame library. Changes save as you go. Choose Done to return to the creation.
Print a drawing sheet
Choose a landscape, portrait, or square sheet. Print with Fit to page on Letter or A4 paper. Draw inside the large rectangle. These sheets are optional: you can also use an image you already have.
Prepare your drawing
Lay the sheet flat in even light. Keep your camera parallel to the paper and avoid glare or shadows. Use your device’s image editor to crop to the inside of the large rectangle before uploading. The app does not crop the printed markers automatically.
Ideas for artwork frames
Draw around the edges and leave room in the middle. The transparent opening is made when you save your family frame. Choose a landscape, portrait, or square canvas independently of the creation’s cut. "Fit selection" keeps the whole selected layer visible. Color and gradient backgrounds stay behind the creation. Check the gallery preview after saving.
Your family library
Family frames stay private. Edit frame can rename or replace one. Replacement updates the full frame and thumbnail wherever your family uses it, keeping each creation’s placement. Removing it returns those creations to plain paper. Frames and display crops appear in Gallery, Home, Spaces, creation detail, and capture confirmation. Shared views and downloads use the saved creation. At-home prints can include the saved composition or leave the frame and display crop out for this print.
Choose a frame in step 1, then fit it in step 2. Search filters the library as you type. You can also describe a frame and choose Auto select background. Clear matching words are checked first; AI assistance needs your permission and a connection. The chosen frame appears in the preview. Back to frames keeps your fit changes. Categories include Awards, Recipes, Schoolwork, Cards, Holidays, Sports and More frames. Sports includes soccer, basketball, baseball and swimming. Staff choose which frames are available. Make your own frame, the frame guide and drawing sheets remain available.
Adding or editing a frame and saving changes to synced creations need a connection. Cached frames can be viewed offline. Drawing-sheet downloads need a connection.
